Trento and Lake Kaltern

A trip through the Etsch Valley to Trento, regional capital of Trentino, a region that, under the name Welschtirol, used to be part of Austria. The city lies at an altitude of 194m and, with its beautiful cathedral, cathedral square and Buonconsiglio Castle (the former residence of the prince-bishops, now a museum), is the headquarters of the Archdiocese of Trento. Free time afterwards to explore. The journey back to your resort takes us along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, with a break at Lake Kaltern.
