The Marteller Almenweg gives an insight into the centuries-old tradition of alpine farming in Hintemartell. It leads past four alpine pastures, which represent different types of alpine pasture use. The Enzianalm is mainly used for grazing cattle, the Zufall-Alm is used for sheep grazing, the name of the Peder Stieralm reveals who was in charge there and the Lyfi-Alm is used for grazing dairy cows and young cattle. The hike begins at the Hintermartell parking lot and leads along the Plima-Schluchtenwegess over the suspension bridge to the Zufallhütte. The trail continues across the slope between the Madritsch and Pedertal valleys to the Stieralm pasture and the Lyfi pasture. From there there is still the descent to the Zufritt reservoir.

It is only possible to stop at the Lyfi-Alm in the afternoon, so take enough drink and some provisions with you.

Not difficult mountain trails with short, somewhat steeper ascents and descents, therefore some fitness required.

Hiking time approx. 4.5 hours with approx. 500 meters of ascent and 650 m of descent, route length approx. 10 km.

• Mountain boots
• rain cover
• warm jacket also in the summer
• enough drink
