Verona

A trip through the Etsch Valley, past Trento and on to Verona. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ‘Arena di Verona’, the ancient amphitheatre on Piazza Bra, possibly built during Emperor Tiberius’ reign in c.30AD, is in great condition and has been incorporated into the modern town centre. The structure is 138m x 109m in size and, when its state of preservation is taken into account, it is the second largest amphitheatre after the Colosseum in Rome. The return journey to your resort takes us through the Etsch Valley.
