Along the old post road from Laion to Ortisei in Val Gardena

The Poststeig trail, which was used by letter carriers to deliver the mail to the valley until the road to Val Gardena was built, starts in Laion and leads along field, meadow and forest paths with a constant view of the Sassolungo, past the hamlets of Tschöfas, Tanürz and St. Peter to the village center of Ortisei.

Stop for refreshments, be sure to take a drink and some provisions with you!

Hiking time approx. 4 hours with 380 m altitude difference in ascent and 250 m descent, route length approx. 12 km on partly moderately difficult hiking trails.

The following equipment is required for participation in all hikes:
• Mountain boots
• rain cover
• warm jacket also in the summer
• enough drinks
